DEAPS Multiplier Event in Laubegg, Austria

The DEAPS project (Developing Educators’ Artistic Practice in Schools) project brings together education specialists, artists, educators and researchers who teach a range of creative disciplines, from writing to drama to film making, across five countries in Europe. Over 3 years, DEAPS has co-produced open access guides which aim to bring creativity into the classroom and home, ensuring that all children engage in creative arts learning. The guides contain activities from different creative disciplines for different age groups, such as creative writing, storytelling, or film making. WUS Austria has co-created activities using Jeux Dramatiques, a theatrical method that dispenses with language during the game. The omission of language creates a new world of orders and perspectives for the children. They begin to use the freedom to engage and experience themselves in non-verbal expressions, and thereby, become more skilful and expressive.

The results of the project were shared with a group of teachers, multipliers, and stakeholders during a training seminar at Laubegg Castle in Styria on June 9, 2023. The participants were highly engaged and interested in the project and its results and engaged to try Jeux Dramatiques activities from the DEAPS guides.
