Participation in SDG Watch Platform Meeting, 15 October 2019

Vienna. Together with more than 20 professionals from different non-governmental organisations, WUS Austria participated in the platform meeting of SDG Watch Austria on 15th October 2019. SDG Watch Austria is a cross-sectorial network of civil society and non-profit organisations working in alliance with the private and academic sector.

SDG Watch Austria promotes an effective and ambitious implementation of the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs in Austria through coordinated advocacy work and joint activities. WUS Austria has joined the network as a member in March 2019. During the meeting, WUS Austria had the opportunity to exchange experiences with a variety of network members including on the topic of SDG 4 and the Austrian Voluntary National Review of the SDGs in front of the HLPF (High Level Political Forum) scheduled for July 2020. In the framework of the upcoming annual SDG Forum on 29 November 2019, WUS AT will organise a panel discussion on the implementation of SDG4 – providing perspectives and a platform of exchange for different governmental and non-governmental actors. The panel will also promote good practices in the field of global learning deriving from the InterCap project. InterCap aims to enhance critical understanding of migration and sustainable development, in the context of SDGs, amongst those in teacher education, in order to increase comprehension of the relationship between the interdependent world, (in)-security and risk.
