High level signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding

Providing skilled and educated workforce remains one of the biggest obstacles for sustainable economic development of Kosovo.

To tackle this issue ALLED Project financed by the European Union and co-financed and managed by the Austrian development Cooperation,among other goals, will focus on:

  • Support to the employability of school and university graduates by developing capacities and infrastructure.
  • Support to the development of a labour market relevant and evidence based national education planning on three levels: VET, Higher Education and Adult Education.
  • Development and piloting labour market relevant study programmes and training in three vital sectors for economic development of Kosovo: Agriculture, Food Technology and Mechanical Engineering.

To achieve these goals great commitment is required by all local and international partners, who on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 signed a Memorandum of Understanding in a high level ceremony organized by ALLED Project in the premises of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, aiming to institutionalize the joint efforts of key stakeholders. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between:

Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST)

Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW)

University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina" (UP)

Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC)

Eight partner VET Schools

Eight partner Municipal Educational Directorates and

Vocational Training Centers

In addition to the signatory partners the ceremony was also attended by other project partners and beneficiaries and was covered by many electronic and print media.

ALLED Projects thanks all the partners for attending the ceremony and providing their willingness to enhance the cooperation and joint efforts by signing the Memorandum of Understanding.
