UNIQUE Centres’ General Training and Project Meeting in Graz, 14th -16th April, 2015

Graz. More than 20 professionals from China, India, Mexico, Namibia, Russia, Spain, the UK and Austria met in Graz/Austria from April 14-16, 2015 for the UNIQUE Centres’ General Training (14-15 April) and project meeting to take stock of the overall implementation of the joint EU Erasmus Mundus Project - “UNIQUE – University Quality Exchange”. The meeting was held at the Fachhochschule Joanneum.

The UNIQUE project focuses on promoting European initiatives to partner universities outside Europe, with the main aim of providing common grounds for academic co-operation. Regional UNIQUE centres are being installed within the project to support the QA departments and international offices of non-EU partner universities and of universities in the respective regions to improve visibility of the European Higher Education Area and the European quality assurance procedures in the target countries.

The training targeted (future) UNIQUE Centre staff from China, India, Mexico, Namibia and Russia who is expected to provide similar trainings in their own national contexts. Topics of the training included challenges and opportunities of the Bologna Process, the European Dimension of Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), competence based education, curriculum development assessment, internal/external quality assurance procedures, national qualification frameworks, the students’ perspective and internationalization.

We are looking forward to our further collaboration on this project with all our partners!
