UNIMIG_2nd Curriculum Development Workshop in Tbilisi

Tbilisi. The 2nd and last Curriculum Development Workshop within the project "Migration and Higher Education – Building Skills and Capacity" has taken place in Tbilisi from October 25th - 27th, 2012. The workshop was led by the University of Oldenburg and hosted by the Tbilisi State University.

The workshop was opened by Prof. Levan Alexidze (TSU) and  Ms. Iliana Derilova (Chief of Mission, IOM Georgia). The curriculum development workshop was led by Dr. Lydia Potts and Ms Catharina Schmidt from the University of Oldenburg, and encompassed the following topics :status quo of curriculum development at the six participating universities in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia; working groups on joint introductory module; follwed by presentations (see below).

  • University of Alicante/Alicia Blaya: Migration ad intercultural relations. Sociological analysis
  • Karl-Franzens University, Graz/Lisa Heschl: Europe as migratory space. The EU’ s legal framework on migration
  • IOM Georgia/Nino Gurgenidze: Trafficking in Human Beings

 

Additionally to the curriculum development workshop the meeting included a consortium meeting.
