Two eminent experts from USA and Mexico held lectures at faculties in Sarajevo in the week from March 2nd to March 6th, in the frame of the Brain Gain Program.
Professor Kuftinec from the College of Dentistry, University of New
York, visited the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sarajevo, and
held lectures from March 2nd to March 6th. Professor Kuftinec is an
eminent expert in orthodontics and chairman of the Department of
Orthodontics. It is interesting that professor Kuftinec was the first
graduate student of the Faculty of Dentistry in Sarajevo in 1964 after
which he started his international career.
Professor Mediha
Filipovic, Presiding of the Orthodontic Section of the Federation
B&H and Head of Department of Orthodontics of the Sarajevo Faculty
of Dentistry awarded professor Kuftinec with the Honorable Membership
Certificate of the Section after he has held lectures to the members of
the Section.
Besides lecturing, professor Kuftinec had meetings with several
representatives of higher education in order to get familiar with the
situation in this field and to exchange experiences: at the Rectorate
he met the Vice-rectors Samir Arnautovic and Izet Bijelonja and he had
a meeting with Safet Keso, Minister of Education and Science of the
Sarajevo Canton. During all meetings the importance of the WUS Austria
support through BGP was emphasized. His activities were well covered by
media.
