“UNI4INNO” – 1st training module at Chalmers University of Technology

Gothenburg. The Chalmers University of Technology hosted the 1st training module that took place within the framework of the Tempus project “UNI4INNO”, from January 24th-27th, 2011.

A successful 1st training module within Tempus UNI4INNO (“Boosting the Knowledge Triangle by Establishing Innovation Offices in Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions”) took place at Chalmers University of Technology from January 24th-27th, 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden. High university management representatives, researchers and innovation office staff of 6 Ukrainian universities were present including also representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and State Institute of Innovation Technologies and Content of Education. The participants were provided the opportunity to enhance their skills and managerial capacities within an interactive and participative training with abundant case studies and practical group exercises.

Highly experienced staff and trainers from the Chalmers University of Technology lead the training program and provided insights in the following areas:

  • Institutional communication with researchers and tracking of university research activities and results
  • Methods to detect valuable research results
  • Development of sustainable links with enterprises
  • Successful structures and models of innovation support in universities
  • Practical exercise on development of technology maps

WUS Austria contributed to the training module by providing good practice examples from Austrian universities and by drawing practical conclusions from other experiences and relevant initiatives, such as business start-up centres established in SEE. Thus WUS Austria trainers held presentations on the following topics:

  • Research documentation
  • Project registration
  • Invention disclosure
  • Incubators and business start-up centres

Additionally, and with a view to take full advantage of Chalmers University of Technology’s specific know-how, partners had the opportunity to visit the complete set of innovation support structures, such as the Lindholmen Science Park (LSP), Chalmers Entrepreneurship School, and the “Encubator”.

WUS Austria wants to thank once again all involved partner for their valuable contributions and especially the Chalmers University of Technology and CIT- respectively their staff-for their excellent training, professional organisation and very heartily and generous hospitality.
