DeLLCO Study Visit at the K.U.Leuven, Belgium

Leuven. The first study visit within the Tempus project “Development of  the Lifelong Learning  Concept at the University of Montenegro” (DeLLCO) took place in the period from 21st to 25th February 2011 at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U. Leuven). The project is coordinated by the University of Montenegro in partnership with KU Leuven, University of Aarhus, University of Alicante, WUS Austria, and the local partners: Ministry of Education and Science, Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Centre for Vocational Education and Employment Agency of Montenegro and will be implemented in the period from 15 October 2010 to 14 October 2012.

Montenegrin delegation had the opportunity to become familiar with the Lifelong Learning (LLL) strategy and policies at K.U.Leuven, as well as the cooperation mechanisms between the University and its social partners, who offer life-long learning opportunities for different categories of students in Belgium. Representatives of K.U.Leuven and other relevant institutions, such as: Director of International Office, Vice Rector for International Policy of K.U. Leuven, representatives of VOKA - Regional Chamber of Commerce, HIVA - K.U.Leuven Research Centre involved in Policy Studies regarding Lifelong Learning and Society, VDAB - Employment Agency, provided a valuable insight into their experiences and lessons learnt in this area. The aim of the project “Development of the Lifelong Learning  Concept at the University of Montenegro” is to improve learning opportunities in Montenegrin society at large and achieve higher employability through the development of LLL university strategy, enabling wider access to higher education, incorporating non-formal and informal education into the overarching national qualification framework and enhancing partnerships with relevant social partners.
