The new projects selected from the 2nd call for the Course Development Program Plus-(CDP+)

On Thursday, September 17th 2009, a ‘Selection Panel’ meeting for WUS Austria’s Curriculum Development Program Plus (CDP+) was held in WUS, Prishtina Office. CDP+ is being implemented within WUS Austria’s program: “Building Quality, Knowledge & Skills for Social and Economic Development, Support to Reforms of Higher Education in Kosovo 2008–2011”. The program is financed by: Austrian Development Cooperation.

The aim of CDP+ is to support the course development at the University of Prishtina (UP), with regard to the integration into the European Higher Education Area, by the provision of means for the introduction and/or improvement of courses.    

Among 7 CDP+ applications that were received on the Second Call, the Selection Panel, composed by representatives from: Ministry of Education Science and Technology of Kosova, University of Prishtina, Austrian Development Cooperation-Office in Prishtina and WUS-Austria-Office in Prishtina, decided to support the following projects:

 

  1. CDP+ Project no.: 07/09, “Introduction to Bioelectromagnetics”, lectured by: Prof. Dr. Luan Ahma & Mr. Sc. Mimoza Ibrani from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (The course is supported with equipment). 

  1. CDP+ Project no.: 08/09, “Learning Difficulties”, lectured by: Msc. Linda Salihu from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philosophy – Department of Pedagogy.      

  1. CDP+ Project no.: 09/09, “Identity & Society”, lectured by: Msc. Hasnija Ilazi from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philosophy – Department of Philosophy.

  1. CDP+ project no.: 10/09, “Organized Crime”, lectured by: Prof. Dr. Rexhep Gashi from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Law – Department of Criminal Law.  

  1. CDP+ project no.: 11/09, “Inclusive Education”, lectured by: Prof Dr. Naser Zabeli from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philosophy – Department of Pedagogy.

  1. CDP+ project no.: 12/09, “Sociology of the Family:, lectured by: Prof. Dr. Anton K. Berishaj from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philosophy – Department of Sociology, and

  1. CDP+ project no.: 13/09, “Heart Failure”, lectured by: Dr. Gani Bajraktari from University of Prishtina, Faculty of Medicine – Department of Internal Medicine (The course is supported with equipment; if there will be remaining funds).

Final decisions were based on results of pre-selection procedures which included: technical course assessment, technical assessment of equipments (if the applications included equipments), peer review evaluation, and pre-monitoring meetings.   

All the supported projects will be financed in cooperation with the University of Prishtina.
