“Open Days 2009” fair took place from 4th to 8th of May 2009. The fair was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro and the Centre for Effective Development of Higher Education (CERVO), with the support of partners through all phases of its realisation. The partners of the fair were: Municipality of Podgorica, Municipality of Bar, Municipality of Bijelo Polje, eminent companies and organisations from Montenegro.

Open Days 2009 was organised in: the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica (4th of May 2009) and two other municipalities: Bar (6th of May 2009) and Bijelo Polje (8th of May 2009), which means that all three regions in Montenegro were included in the presentation of the project.

“Open Days 2009 – Third Fair of Higher Education and Scholarships” consists of three segments: »Higher education«, »Scholarships« and »Summer Job« segment, which was introduced this year.

The Scholarship Fair „Open Days 2009“ is the event where all scholarships and other forms of financial support available to Montenegrin citizens concerning higher education are presented at one place. The Scholarship Fair, as well as The Higher Education Fair made it possible for future and current students to get informed about existing opportunities for studying at Montenegrin higher education institutions and obtaining financial support.

Through „Open Days 2009“ project, 30 faculties from Montenegrin public and private universities presented their programs, and had the opportunity to exchange information and offer their programs to prospective and current students. In addition to that, The Scholarship Fair was a place where renowned institutions from Montenegro, as well as numerous international organisations and Embassies presented their programs of support for higher education in Montenegro. All those who visited WUS Austria stand were informed about new projects, especially about the scholarships and exchange opportunities offered under the Innovative Project Ideas. Moreover, Coordination Office of Austrian Development Cooperation in Montenegro enabled the promotion of Austrian database of scholarship on WUS Austria stand. All interested people were given relevant promotional material, which also included the website www.grants.at.

This fair enabled WUS Austria to establish a number of contacts, not only with students who will apply for WUS scholarships, but also professors and experts who could possibly be involved in WUS projects.
