One-Day Quality Assurance Training Seminar in Montenegro

 

On 9th of April 2009, one-day training seminar took place at the University of Montenegro, organised by the local WUS office in Podgorica.  This was the first out of six one-day seminars that will be organised within this project.

The seminar was very well attended by the University of Montenegro staff, management and professors, which proves their commitment and awareness of how important it is to establish a proper QA system at the University of Montenegro

Among other participants, Rector of the University of Montenegro, Mr Predrag Miranovic, who also moderated the morning session, and Vice Rector for International Cooperation Ms Mira Vukcevic were present.

Mr Mitar Misovic the Director of QA Center at the University of Montenegro chaired the afternoon session where the regional QA experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina were sharing their experiences in implementation of the quality assurance system at their universities. One expert from the University of Mostar Mr Alim Abazovic, and one from the University of Eastern Sarajevo Mr Nenad Markovic were presenting problems faced in BiH on this matter. In addition, Mr Dino Mujkic and Ms Nina Kovac from WUS office in Sarajevo presented the EU trends related to the establishment and implementation of the quality assurance system.

The participants at the seminar asked a number of questions, which shows their great interest in the topic.  Following the seminar, the University of Montenegro drafted a “Road Map”, the future steps in implementation of this very important project. This document was developed by QA office and is presented to the Rector of the University of Montenegro and WUS – Austria local office in Podgorica.

Next seminar should take place in the beginning of September 2009.
