Innovative Project Ideas - New projects selected

Podgorica. Selection committee convened in WUS Austria Podgorica Office on Thursday 16th of April 2009 in order to select best applications for Innovative Project Ideas in the Field of Academic Cooperation and exchange between Austrian and Montenegrin Higher Education Institutions.

The project is being implemented within the framework of WUS Austria programme: “Support to Higher Education in Montenegro 2007-2010”, which is financed by the Austrian Development Cooperation.The aims of the project are to enable and support academic mobility between Austria and Montenegro, to contribute to teaching and curriculum development, development of modern and innovative teaching methodologies and materials, to contribute to sustainable institutional cooperation through contacts that are made within this project and to enable exchange of experience and transfer of knowledge in both directions.

Seven applications were received while the first call was published until the deadline 31st of March 2009. The decision was made by the Selection Committee consisting of the representatives of the Austrian Development Cooperation as the donor (Mr Gerhard Schaumberger), representative of the University of Montenegro as the beneficiary (Ms Mira Vukcevic, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation) and WUS Austria as the implementing agency (Ms Ivana Zivaljevic and Ms Mladenka Tesic). The Selection Committee decided to support the following projects:

  1. No. 01/2009, “Establishing of Herbarium and Lichen Collection at the Faculty of Natural Sciences”, coordinated by Danijela Stesevic, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Montenegro;
  2. No. 02/2009, “Systematic and Molecular Genetic Assessment of Aquatic Biodiversity in Montenegro”, coordinated by Vladimir Pesic, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Montenegro;
  3. No. 03/2009, “Art Exchange: Inspiration is a Gift”, coordinated by Marko Markovic, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Montenegro;
  4. No. 06/2009, “Biomedical Instrumentation and Functional Materials”, coordinated by Jovan Mirkovic, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Montenegro.

Project which are supported through Innovative Project Ideas in the Field of Academic Cooperation and exchange between Austrian and Montenegrin Higher Education Institutions will be realised until April 2010.
