TEMPUS Kick off Meeting: “Fostering and Developing the Quality Culture at the University of Prishtina”

Prishtina. From March 6th-7th the Kick-off Meeting for the project Fostering and Developing the Quality Culture at the University of Prishtina” took place at the Rectorate of the University of Prishtina (UP). The overall objective of the project is to foster and develop the Quality Culture at all levels such as: teaching, learning, research, administration and student support services while taking into account perspectives of internal and external university stakeholders.

The meeting was opened with the welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Luan Ahma, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Research at the UP. On behalf of the UP, Prof. Dr. Suzana Manxhuka-Kerliu, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, thanked the European Commission and the project partners for supporting and helping with the implementation of reforms at the UP through different projects.

The Director of Higher Education Department at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Avdulla Alija, as well as representatives from the European Commission Liaison and Tempus Offices in Kosovo also addressed the participants by giving short speeches and emphasizing the importance of the project.

During the meeting each partner presented his/her partner institution. Furthermore, the project objectives, outcomes and activities were presented by the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Luan Ahma. WUS Austria gave a presentation regarding the financial management of the project and the use of funds in line with the TEMPUS rules.     

The project is granted to the University of Prishtina through the fourth TEMPUS Call and will be implemented with the project partners: University College Cork, University of Salzburg, http://www.uni-wuppertal.de, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Kosovo and WUS Austria.
