Fifth Anniversary of ACCESS

On November 23rd 2005, ACCESS (Academic Cooperation Center for Students in Sarajevo) celebrated its fifth year of existence. Around 50 guests, partners and friends of ACCESS, attended the ceremony, which was opened with an address by the Austrian Ambassador to B&H, His Excellency prof. dr. Werner Almhofer. Opening speeches were also delivered by Zoran Seleskovic, General Secretary of University of Sarajevo, prof. dr. Wolfgang Benedek, WUS Austria Chairman, and prof. dr. Srebren Dizdar, Chairman of SUS B&H Steering Board. After introductory speeches, presentations were given by ACCESS and other organizations whose offices are situated in this Center:

• ACCESS - Mirza Becirovic, Director
• WUS Austria - Dino Mujkic, WUS Austria Regional Manager in B&H
• SRCe and eFM Student Radio - Armin Ibrahimpasic
• HumanRightsCenter - Dino Abazovic, Director

ACCESS, was established through close cooperation between WUS Austria and SUS B&H, with the aim of providing support for academic institution development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The center operates as a platform for the improvement of higher education in the SEE region and it also, through its work, contributes to the enrichment of cultural activities in an academic environment. Today it functions as an important meeting point for much regional and international cooperation in the field of higher education.
