PROMIG Cross-regional Summer School at Tbilisi State University

Tbilisi. From 2-6 July 2018, a cross-regional Summer School on migration – a topic high on the global political agenda - is being held at Tbilisi State University. The Summer School is being organised within the scope of the Erasmus+ Project PROMIG - Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education. The Summer School was officially opened on July 2 by Dr. George Sharvashidze, Rector of Tbilisi State University and aims to attract young students/researchers in order to foster a reflected academic discourse on migration related topics.  In different working groups, current trends and challenges are being discussed related to topics such as refugee rights and human rights, sustainable development and migration, integrated border management as well as (labour) migration and economics in the South Caucasus. Altogether, more than 50 persons from countries including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Spain, Austria, Germany participate in the PROMIG Summer School on Migration.
