Project description
The project aims to empower women and girls to strengthen reproductive health and combat period poverty targeting students, teachers, and social workers in the slums of Korogocho/Nairobi.
This will be achieved through collaboration with schools and awareness-raising outreach work on the topics of reproductive health and period poverty. Main results of the project will include:
- Guidelines on reproductive health and period poverty for social workers
- Dialogue forum on reproductive health and period poverty with local schools in the slums of Korogocho
- Awareness raising in schools and outreach work by SCF’s social workers targeting girls and their families in the slums of Korogocho
- Final dissemination workshop
This project is a follow up to the projects: Improving life skills of young mothers in the slums of Nairobi (implemented in 2022) and Promotion of Children's Rights in the Slums of Nairobi (implemented in 2023).
